The Trouble with Hairy is the twenty-second episode of Dude, That's My Ghost! It aired for the first time on April 21, 2013.

Synopsis[]

When Spencer tries on Billy’s fur coat and stands under the moonlight, he’s accidentally turned into a werewolf. Spencer would think this was pretty cool if it wasn’t class-picture day. Fortunately, the werewolf effects wear off in daylight, when the moon can’t be seen. Unfortunately, the moon rocks on display in science class make his bad hair day return with a vengeance! With picture time approaching, and Ponzi determined that no student opts out, will Spencer figure out a way to shed his fur?

Plot[]

At night at the Cobra mansion, Spencer is frantically searching for something to wear for his yearbook photo and Billy wonders why he’s stressing about it. Spencer demonstrates to Billy how his past few photos have not looked good for various reasons. Billy questions once again why yearbook photos would be significant and Spencer responds that when he’s a big-time director, old photos of him will be dug up. Billy then enthusiastically appoints himself Spencer’s stylist and holds up various outfits for Spencer to try out, one of which is a fur coat that Billy claims to be made from real werewolf fur. When Spencer tries it on, he discovers that it’s been made sticky from Billy’s ectoplasm. When the full moon appears from behind the clouds, Spencer discovers that he can’t remove the coat as it seems to have melded to his body. After Billy unsuccessfully attempts to remove it, Spencer starts to grow more hair and realizes that he has become a werewolf, which is bad news for his school photo. Billy attempts to wax the hair off, making Spencer scream in pain, but it immediately grows back. Spencer’s family then enter his room in response to the scream and are horrified upon seeing him before he finally convinces them that it’s really him.

Hugh tries to help Spencer shave off the hair, which still grows back immediately. Hugh goes to get Jane for help, who insists on styling the hair. Spencer is still worried what other people will think upon seeing him, having nightmarish visions of how they will react. Spencer jolts awake to his alarm ringing and finds the hair gone. Spencer tells Billy about a dream he had where a fur coat turned him into a werewolf and when Billy reports having the same dream, both are convinced it was a weird coincidence.

At Beverly Beverly High, all the students are dressed up for the yearbook photo. In Spencer’s science class, his teacher displays a photo of the full moon and reveals a box of genuine moon rocks, causing hair to suddenly grow all over Spencer’s body. Rajeev, Shanilla, and Billy all notice him run out of class in a hurry and follow to see what’s going on. Spencer remarks that his supposed dream was real and that he was a werewolf. Principal Ponzi spots Spencer and attempts to chase him before Billy pulls Spencer and his friends into a supply closet. Spencer recalls a movie where an antidote potion for being a werewolf was created and asks his friends to gather the ingredients for him as Principal Ponzi is still on the lookout. Billy distracts Ponzi by stealing his wig and the siblings go to get the ingredients.

The siblings were unable to find exactly what ingredients were needed and offer up replacements. Billy shows off some moon rocks that he got, which only accelerate Spencer’s hair growth. Spencer then gets the idea that overexposure to the moon will actually reverse the werewolf effects as seen in a movie. Billy reveals that he picked up all of the moon rocks and the siblings guard the door while he attempts to use them to cure Spencer. Ponzi then spots them and thinks they look suspicious, forcing his way into the closet just as the werewolf transformation is undone and the hair falls off Spencer’s body. Ponzi’s wig is blown off and he reaches for it, not noticing that some of the werewolf hair has been mixed into it. He yells at Spencer for being in the closet as Spencer slips by. Ponzi’s wig then starts glowing and Billy sweeps Spencer and the siblings away from the closed door. In the gymnasium, the yearbook photo is taken right when the students react to seeing a transformed werewolf Ponzi.
