Spencer's Spooks was one of the beta names for Dude, That's My Ghost! that was first pitched in the early stages of its development. Another beta name was Spencer, which followed a different plotline than what DTMG exists as now.
In Spencer, Billy Joe Cobra was still a rock-star ghost, but he went by the name Dirk, had a completely different attire and was Spencer's guardian angel. Madame X was also a character, only she was a ghost, as well, who haunted the Cobra Mansion. She was still Billy's stalker, however. The main plot is about Dirk being highly determined to finish his last album before moving on.
